DO YOU LET OTHERS DECIDE WHAT YOU CAN DO? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 80

Do you know anyone who has zero self-confidence or self-esteem?  Do you know someone who allows other people to define who they are, what they are capable of, and other important facets of their life?  Well, I hope that person is not you because you must believe in yourself and decide for yourself.  If you have never done something do not assume you will not be able to do it based on negative feedback from others or from yourself.  If you have an important decision to make do not believe that you are unable to make it by yourself.  It can be helpful at times to ask others for an opinion, but asking for an opinion is not the same thing as allowing the others to make the decision for you.

Self-talk that is positive, reinforcing your strengths and abilities, and encouraging you to have confidence in yourself it important.  So here are some words to add to your self-talk.

Today's message is:

I AM CAPABLE!

IS ANYONE WITH YOU? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 67

Have you ever felt at any time that you are completely alone in the world with no one to support and encourage you?  Have you ever prevented another person from getting close to you?  Have you turned down offers of help from others?  Have you wished for a great friend and confidant to share life's journey with you?  Well, there are lots of people in this world who want to be friends with others, who want to offer encouragement and support to others, who will help fill that void.  Be selective because today's world is not as simple as it used to be and some people are not to be trusted.  By and large, however, there are many good people in the world and as you get acquainted you will realize today's message which is:

I AM NOT ALONE!

ARE YOUR SIGHTS TOO LOW FOR WHO YOU REALLY ARE? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 63

Too often in life for a variety of reasons parents, teachers, supervisors, and even we set our expectations too low.  A physically handicapped person may not be expected to achieve his highest level of performance because the persons setting the expectations think the handicap will prevent success.  A child with an un-diagnosed learning disability or health condition may be treated as if she does not have the potential for success and is viewed as a problem child. As people age and lose strength it does not mean for many that they are no longer intelligent or interested in life around them, but family members or paid caregivers can start to treat them as if their mental acuity has been lost.  If we ourselves have had too many disappointments in life or if we have not had the nurturing and encouragement so important to all of us, it is very easy to lower the bar for ourselves in terms of grades, standards, achievements, behaviors, goals, performance, health, and so we never know to what heights we might have risen.

Today's message is to encourage you to raise the bar in your own life, and you may just surprise everyone when you:

DEFY EXPECTATIONS!
