DO YOU FEEL ALL ALONE AT TIMES? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 133

Feeling all alone in this world can be a dreadful feeling.  You don't have to feel that way though.  I am a firm believer that love is what makes the difference.  Whether you are a school student who feels alone and unhappy, a college student who feels isolated inside your heart and head, a young professional adult who has only your career to occupy your time, or an elderly person who has outlived friends and family...........it takes only one person (or pet) to make a difference in your life.  Love comes in many forms and from many sources.

You have to put yourself out there in order to let love into your life.  Introduce yourself to a new neighbor, a new co-worker, a new classmate, or call an old friend.  Adopt a pet from the animal shelter.  Dogs and cats give absolutely unconditional love to good owners.

Let yourself love others even if they do not love you in return.  The more love you give out, the more you will receive.  You must start by making up your mind to

LET LOVE IN!

ARE YOUR SIGHTS TOO LOW FOR WHO YOU REALLY ARE? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 63

Too often in life for a variety of reasons parents, teachers, supervisors, and even we set our expectations too low.  A physically handicapped person may not be expected to achieve his highest level of performance because the persons setting the expectations think the handicap will prevent success.  A child with an un-diagnosed learning disability or health condition may be treated as if she does not have the potential for success and is viewed as a problem child. As people age and lose strength it does not mean for many that they are no longer intelligent or interested in life around them, but family members or paid caregivers can start to treat them as if their mental acuity has been lost.  If we ourselves have had too many disappointments in life or if we have not had the nurturing and encouragement so important to all of us, it is very easy to lower the bar for ourselves in terms of grades, standards, achievements, behaviors, goals, performance, health, and so we never know to what heights we might have risen.

Today's message is to encourage you to raise the bar in your own life, and you may just surprise everyone when you:

DEFY EXPECTATIONS!

Whispers, Butterflies, Rose Petals, Satin, and A Mother's Touch

What do these things have in common?  They are all delicate, soft, fragile...........but what do they have to do with today's message?  They are gentle things.  To change your life with words, try being gentle in your treatment of others as well as yourself. Speak gently and softly to children, the elderly, animals, friends, and colleagues.  I realize there are occasions and situations which are not conducive to gentleness.  However, with so much anger and rage in today's society you can change your corner of the world with gentleness.  Gentle words, gentle touches, gentle approaches to people and situations, gentle correction of children and grandchildren, gentle living..............give them all a try.

Be Gentle!
