DESCRIBE YOUR APPROACH TO LIVING? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 55

In the course of my life I have been fortunate to meet many, many people of all shapes and sizes and colors and from all walks of life.  As I got to know them better I realized that some of them approached their lives almost timidly or fearfully.  They were very nice people and good at their jobs but seemed to never venture outside of their personal boundaries.  There were others who were also nice people and good at their jobs but they seemed to know no boundaries in terms of how they lived their lives.  Of the two types of people, the second were the more successful because they were aggressive, very willing to take risks and to try new things.  They had little interest in the status quo.  They did not let things happen; they made things happen.

What would you attempt to do if you ventured outside of your boundaries?  Whether you set the boundaries or others set them for you, what would you be motivated to do?

Today's message is:

LIVE FIERCELY!

DO YOU LIKE SURPRISES? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 47

Day 47 is a bit late considering Day 46's post was written on July 4.  Again, I apologize for the unplanned hiatus.

Some people dislike being surprised while others love it.  I used to tell people that the only surprises I liked were gift wrapped and had my name on them.  Many of us love to surprise those we love with gifts or good news.  One person you can surprise but perhaps never have is yourself.

Trying something new, reaching a goal, controlling your temper, expressing feelings, or doing anything you usually do not do or do not like to do...............surprise yourself by making changes in your life.

Today's message is:

SURPRISE YOURSELF!

DO YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE IN A RUT? CHANGING YOUR LIFE WITH WORDS - DAY 32

If you lead a very busy life then you are like most people in today's world.  Single parents work and some two-parent households have both parents working outside the home.  The tight economy and lack of jobs cause those who have jobs to work even more hours to pick up the slack from layoffs and downsizing.  The wonderful technology we use has created more demands for our time, more requests for instant information, and the 24/7 availability causes lack of planning and organizing.  There are more extra-curricular activities and play dates for children requiring chauffeuring, sponsoring, coaching, and leading.

With so much to do in each day the chaotic schedule has become the norm.  Routines become demanding but boring.  All the new things you would like to learn or try ultimately are relegated to some future date because there is not enough time.  Of course, there is also the fear of trying new things which one hates to admit, and so the lack of time becomes the well-worn excuse to stay in a rut.  If you try something new, you may not like it, but at least you will have made the effort.  Children learn new things daily so they are never in a rut.

Make a decision to spend at least 10 minutes a day pursuing or trying something new.  Read something new.  Try a new food.  Explore the outdoors. Work in the yard.  Walk, jog or dance.  Attempt a new craft or hobby.  Nothing will get you out of a rut faster.

Today's message is simply:

Try new things!

REACH FOR SOMETHING NEW
